Getting Started

As with any database program, initial setup is required. Since the Student Recipe System is an external module of the Windows Stock System, data must be exported from the Stock System to the Student Recipe System, so that students will be using the correct stock data when creating recipes.

Exporting from the Windows Stock System

When the Windows Stock System is installed, it includes an external module called Export to Student Recipe. This module can be found by going to your Start Menu, then going to Programs | Windows Stock System | Export to Student Recipe. Make sure you have a blank floppy disk inserted into your floppy drive. Click on the Export button to commence exporting your stock data.

Importing into the Student Recipe System

After you have completed the Stock System Export, that data needs to be imported into your Student Recipe System. Insert the floppy disk containing the export data into the floppy drive. Load the Student Recipe System, and login as Administrator. Go to the Setup menu, select File Locations and make sure that the Import Location is set to 'A:\'. Then go to the Recipe menu and select Import Recipes or click on the Import button on the toolbar. This will import all stock data on the disk into the Student Recipe System databases. You are now ready to use the system.
