Section Description

The units of measure file contains all units of measure that you may need to use in a project / recipe. The standard measure should be either Kg, L, M or Each. The conversion factor represents the fraction (or multiple) of the standard unit that makes up the measurement. Eg. 1 cup Cornflour = 0.185kg. The form is the type of material that this measurement corresponds to.

Steps




To get to the Units of Measure File
To get to the Units of Measure File, select the File menu and select Units of Measure, or click on Units Of Measure in the navigator.



Adding a Units of Measure Item
To add a Units of Measure item:
  1. Click on the New button in the bottom of the screen, and all of the fields shown will blank out. (The TAB key moves to the next field.)
  2. Enter the unit code. This is usually the abbreviation of the unit of measure plus a symbol at the end, to distinguish between CUP. (flour) and CUP\ (cornflour).
  3. Enter the name of the unit of measure.
  4. Enter the standard measure (KG, L, M or EA), conversion factor and the form.
  5. Click on the Save button in the bottom of the window to save changes. Clicking Cancel will cancel all changes.


Editing Units of Measure Data
To edit data relating to a specific units of measure item (ie. update an incorrect conversion factor):
  1. Locate the record to edit by using List or Search (see Searching (Lookups)).
  2. Alter any of the required fields.
  3. Click on the Save button in the bottom of the window to save changes. Clicking Cancel will cancel all changes.


Deleting a Units of Measure Item
To delete an existing units of measure item:
  1. Locate the record to delete by using List or Search (see Searching (Lookups)).
  2. Click on the Delete button to delete the item. Click OK when asked if you wish to delete. Be careful, the item could be in a recipe, If so, deletion will 'orphan' these files.


Reports
To view the units of measure reports, click on the Reports tab located at the top left of the units of measure file screen. The units of measure file provides 1 report:
  1. Units of Measure Print Out: This report is a listing of all the units of measure items in unit code order. To generate the report, select Units of Measure Print Out from the report list and click on Preview or Print.
